Information Status
USDA Rural Development's Individual Water and Wastewater Grants program provides funds to households in an area recognized as a Colonia to connect service lines to a residence, pay utility hook-up fees, and install plumbing and related fixtures. The maximum amount to an individual for water connections is $3,500; the maximum amount for sewer connections is $4,000; and the maximum lifetime total is $5,000.

Must own and occupy a dwelling located in a Colonia with evidence of ownership; have total taxable household income that is below the most recent Department of Health and Human Services poverty income guidelines; and have no delinquencies on federal debt.
