Topics include plumbing, electrical, tiling, plaster/drywall, as well as essential communication skills for working with tenants and outside contractors. This lecture and hands-on-training class is designed to prepare students for work as an in-house super. Students learn to repair toilets and faucets, install locks, wire outlets, plaster, set tile and perform the everyday tasks of a resident super. The class also covers NYC pest control requirements(bedbugs and rats) and the workings of heating systems. Graduates receive a certificate of completion that may be presented as evidence of having met the educational requirements to work as a competent building super. 24 hours. A tool kit with a list of basic tools and equipment are required for the class.
