"If it was possible to review this at a lower rating, I would. Operation Didnt-give-any-shits is one of the worst run farces I've seen in my time on the streets. This includes organizations all the way from North Carolina to L.A, from Mile High Denver to 6 feet below in N.O.L.A... this is THE poorest excuse of a homeless organization, period! Their website boasts about nutritious meals they provide, and how they're providing housing for veterans in the Oakland/Emeryville area... psyche! If nutritious meals include contaminated, outdated, bacteria-riddled leftovers that someone was ready to toss out, than eat your heart out. During my husband's and my stay at one of their ~luxurious~ "tuff sheds" (more on that in a moment), we were exposed repeatedly to outdated dinners that resulted in food poisoning. And we were not alone. Several of the individuals we met while staying there shared similar complaints. This is,of course, when we were actually served a meal at all; despite the program ensuring us that we were to be served breakfast and dinner every day and provided with easy to make lunch options (i.e sandwich makings, ramen cups), we came to learn that what we were actually provided with was a snack size pack of cookies or a sugary confection as an excuse for breakfast (if we could find the site manager and appeal to her merciful side, that is) and a recycled, often times poorly handled and poorly heated dinner that was sloppy seconds donations from a local church. These dinners came to be known as death on a plate, as the illness that often followed was so miserable, you felt like you were dying or wished you would. Mind you, this is all applicable Mon-Fri. apparently, we don't eat on the weekends. I wish i could say it stopped at bad food- but that was only the beginning. Once you get used to the shitty food, then you get the next curveball: the staff. Allow me to introduce our site manager (for the sake of legality and keeping myself in the clear, we'll call her Mickey). Mickey might be the rudest, meanest, most inappropriately unprofessional manager of any property or housing situation I've ever met...EVER. While residing at the tuff sheds on Mandela Parkway, I endured repeated traumas at the hands of this woman. On several occasions she blatantly, publicly humiliated me by loudly discussing personal information that had no business being talked about so publicly. During one confrontation she actually kicked in our door, knocking me over a table. My dog went into hiding for the following several hours... She made our experience there so miserable, we actually consciously decided to move out, forgoing our potential for housing through them (though, it must be noted that up until that point very little at all had been done to assist us in finding and procuring stable housing). To keep this from being any longer than necessary, I'll just say: the rest of the staff, all the way up to the director, is as rude and incompetent as she is. I wouldn't put it past any of them to be capable of defrauding and embezzling money from the city- that is, if they could complete two thoughts on their own without anyone's help... This organization- Operation Dipshit- would do well to completely overhaul the entire chain of command; Very top down to the substitute janitor..."
