LAUSD School Mental Health (SMH)
Information Status
The LAUSD School Mental Health (SMH) intervention program relieves symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and general anxiety among youth exposed to trauma. Children are provided with education about common reactions to stress and trauma and are taught skills such as how to relax their bodies, how to challenge and replace upsetting thoughts, and how to think through and address problems in their lives. Phone or video services are offered during this time due to Covid-19.

Resident of Los Angeles, Cudahy, Carson, San Pedro, Van Nuys,
Resident of Los Angeles County,
Services are available to families whose children are students of the District. Families with certain insurance plans, such as Medi-Cal, SMH may be able to bill those plans and receive reimbursement for those MH services provided.,
