The Crucible is a nonprofit organization and art school that services Oakland and the East Bay. They offer classes and workshops in fine and industrial arts to individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

The Crucible is closed on holidays, including New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, and the week between Christmas Day and New Year's Day. When a holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, it is usually observed on the preceding Friday or the following Monday, respectively.
