In June of 2012, Los Angeles Unified School District’s (LAUSD) Division of Adult and Career Education (DACE) was officially closed due to budget shortfalls. As a result of public pressure, LAUSD reopened and restructured 30 adult schools into 10 service areas. Upon reopening in 2012, Huntington Park Service Area (HPSA) was one of the ten adult education service areas within the LAUSD and served the areas previously managed by two adult schools, Huntington Park-Bell Community Adult School, and the South Gate Community Adult School. Huntington Park Community Adult School offers Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, Career Technical Education and English as a Second Language courses.
