Learn about education for homeless students
California Department of Education (CDE)
Verified Information

California Department of Education (CDE) requires that all local educational agencies ensure that homeless students have access to the same free, appropriate public education, including public preschools as provided to other children and youths. To meet this goal the CDE has a person in each school district (Liaisons) who helps students enroll in school and get resources necessary for school.
