The Youth Workforce Development Initiative helps participants gain work experience and support in pursuing a career at the FDNY. Participants also develop contacts with Firefighters, EMTs, Paramedics and others already on the job.

Recruiters are available by phone or email during these hours. To participate in this program, youth must be able to attend four meetings per month.

Youth are not required to have citizenship status to connect and train with Firefighters, but those that are interested in a career must have citizenship status at the time of application submission.
