Bayview Hunter's Point YMCA provides a health and lifestyle change program for individuals at risk or living with diabetes and other chronic diseases. This is a National Diabetes Prevention Program, a CDC-recognized diabetes prevention lifestyle change program. All classes are currently held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Eligibility Requirements
Be 18 or older; be overweight (BMI >24.9, for Asians >22.9); have prediabetes verified via blood value, gestational diabetes during previous pregnancy or a qualifying risk score. Those with a current or previous history of type 2 diabetes don't qualify.,
