The CalWORKS Program provides short-term, intense treatment, case management, and outreach to resolve issues that are barriers to employment. Participants range from individuals with persistent or severe mental disabilities to individuals with mild to acute emotional problems, such as anxiety or situational depression. Clients are typically referred by the Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) GAIN Program.

Must meet medical necessity requirements and display the following symptoms: anxiety, depression, restlessness, or behavioral problems. Must live with and care for dependents.,
