The County of Marin Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) offers In-Home​ Supportive Services (IHSS), which provide homecare services to Medi-Cal eligible, senior, blind, or individuals with disabilities (including children) to assist them to remain safely in their own homes as an alternative to out-of-home care. Services may include housework, shopping, laundry, medical transportation, meal preparation, and assistance with personal needs such as bathing, dressing, and transfers.
Schedule
IHSS does not provide 24-hour care. If you need 24-hour care, you will need to make other arrangements for your non-IHSS hours, such as through a Home and Community-Based Waiver (HCBW).
Eligibility Requirements
Participant in Medicaid/Medi-Cal, People with disabilities, Must be a California resident, be over the age of 65, blind, or have a disability. Disability must be one that will last one year or longer. Must demonstrate a functional limitation and need for help with activities of daily living., Seniors
