The Third Street Women’s Residence provides transitional shelter and supportive services to women experiencing homelessness who have mental illness concerns. Women seeking shelter must first apply through the Coordinated Entry System at the HELP Women's Shelter or Franklin Shelter.

Single women can apply for shelter at the HELP Women’s Shelter (116 Williams Avenue between Liberty & Glenmore Avenues, Brooklyn; C train to Liberty Avenue) or the Franklin Shelter (1122 Franklin Avenue, near 166th Street, the Bronx; 2 train to 149th Street, then the BX15 bus to 166th Street & 3rd Avenue).
