The City of San Bruno provides residents with training to become a part of the San Bruno Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), who help respond to emergencies when emergency services are not immediately available. Training covers basic fire suppression, utility control, light search and rescue, and disaster medical aid. The training includes 12 hours of online training and then 16 hours of in-person training.
