Get behavioral support for children who experienced trauma
LAUSD School Mental Health (SMH)
Verified Information

The LAUSD School Mental Health (SMH) intervention program relieves symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and general anxiety among youth exposed to trauma. Children are provided with education about common reactions to stress and trauma and are taught skills such as how to relax their bodies, how to challenge and replace upsetting thoughts, and how to think through and address problems in their lives. Phone or video services are offered during this time due to Covid-19.
