The Safely Home program offers free car seat check events open to the community 6 times a year and available to anyone needing help transitioning their child from a rear facing to a forward facing car seat. Certified technicians offer the following assistance: ensure that their child’s car seat has not been recalled; advise on how to choose an age, height, and weight appropriate car seat; instruct and demonstrate how to install and place the appropriate car seat in the vehicle, and answer questions.
