Three to five year old children may be referred to the San Francisco Unified School District's Preschool Intake to determine their eligibility for special education services. Once an assessment is completed, an Initial Individualized Education Program is developed.

Office is currently closed to the public due to COVID-19, contact via phone or email. // Upon receiving requested items, the Preschool Assessment Unit must reply within fifteen (15) calendar days with a written Assessment Plan (AP) for your child, or Prior Written Notice (PWN) letter explaining why an assessment will not be conducted. This timeline does not apply during summer recess, or school holidays.
