Information Status
Young Adult Borough Centers (YABCs), in association with Good Shepherd Services, are afternoon and evening programs for high school students who are behind in credits or have adult responsibilities that make it hard to attend school during the day, to earn a high school diploma. The YABCs are managed by Disctrict 79 and supported by the Learning to Work program. Graduation rate in 2018-2019 was 84%. Students can attend YABC full time or enroll in the shared program which allows them to attend their home school in the day and take YABC classes in the evening.
Eligibility Requirements
For full time at YABS school: must be currently enrolled in an NYC high school, have earned at least 17 credits. Students 16 and older can continue at their home school and attend YABC in the evening. No credit requirement.,
