Information Status
NMHED offers scholarships for spouses or children of firefighters or peace officers killed in the line of duty. Scholarships cover tuition and room and board up to the average cost of attendance at a New Mexico public research university. Scholarships are for a period of up to six academic years.

Eligibility Requirements
The applicant and deceased firefighter/peace officer must be a resident of New Mexico. The applicant must attend a public post-secondary institution (in or out of New Mexico) and must have been 21 years or younger at the time of the deceased's death.
