Adoptive parents can amend their adopted child's New Mexico birth certificate after an adoption through the Department of Health's Bureau of Vital Statistics.

Documentation Needed to Enroll
Certified Report of Adoption form and a certified final decree of adoption. The certified final decree of adoption of a foreign born child must provide the probable country and date of birth and order the NM state registrar to create a birth certificate.
