ASAP’s employment program combines a 30-hour job readiness training, individualized career planning, job coaching, informational interview matching, and job placement services as needed. Their goal is to equip asylum seekers with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to secure and retain safe, legal, and meaningful employment. ASAP's employment program helps asylum seekers learn how to: Navigate a local job search; Complete a job application; Prepare and tailor a U.S. style resume and cover letter; Craft an elevator pitch; Develop interviewing skills; Learn about U.S. workplace expectations, benefits, and workers’ rights; Learn where to access vocational training and other professional development opportunities.
