Safe at Home is Rebuilding Together Oakland's (RTO) year-round program to make homes safe and energy-efficient. RTO installs devices and makes modifications in the home to prevent falls, improve accessibility, and increase safety in the home. Common tasks performed during a Safe at Home visit include installing grab bars, raised toilet seats, shower seats, hand-held showerheads, non-slip mats, smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers. On occasion, RTO installs wheelchair ramps.
