Hayward Literacy Plus Council provides a one-on-one tutoring program for adults who want to improve their basic reading and writing skills. They offer volunteer tutors to help in a personalized setting, plus they supply books and materials.

Eligibility Requirements
Must be able to read and/or write below an 8th grade level, make tutoring appointments without help, and meet with a tutor once a week for at least 6 months. Must not be in high school or have attended college (or not successfully).,
