Information Status

Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles (LAFLA) helps Veterans with eviction assistance, including pre-eviction notices, unlawful detainers and requests to change an eviction judgment. LAFLA also offers subsidized housing assistance including challenging denials, suspensions, and terminations of a subsidized housing voucher. In addition it offers habitability assistance including reasonable accommodations and ensuring that housing is safe.

Eligibility Requirements

Veteran, The organization follows federal poverty guidelines and assists only people with income less than 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. However, sometimes people with income over 125% of the federal poverty guidelines can qualify as well.

Self-help centers may be open to walk-ins for limited services, but services may change or close due to COVID-19. Litigants can call LAFLA's self-help staff at 213-235-0060 from 8:30am - 12:00pm on Monday - Friday and 1:00pm - 4:30pm on Monday - Thursday.
