Get a monthly discount on utility bills

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) Information Status

California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) provides a 30% or more monthly discount on electricity and gas bills for individuals who are currently receiving public assistance or who meet income qualifications.
Schedule
Once approved for the program, households will receive their discount for two years. After two years, households will have to renew their application to make sure they still qualify. For families on a fixed income, renewal is every four years.
