Institute on Aging’s Friendship Line is a 24-hour toll-free accredited crisis and warmline for seniors aged 60 and older, and adults living with disabilities. Trained volunteers specialize in offering a caring ear and having a friendly conversation with lonely and/or depressed individuals.

"I'm a 66-year-old disabled man who was encouraged to call what is referred to as a friendship line. No friendship occurred I was discouraged from calling again. This service is extremely selective but the criterion are kept secret. I would discourage anyone from becoming involved with these people."
